Earth Hour 2009

As a fag  leader in the global concern of environmental issue, Earth Hour was much celebrated and practiced by Canadians and their government. An outdoor concert was held at the city hall of Toronto during the Earth Hour on 328/2009 to draw the attention of citizens to Earth Hour and the Copenhagen Climate Conference that will happen at later of the year which will decide further policies to counter climate change after Kyoto Protocol expires at the end of 2012.

Couple other guys and I decided to go check out the event since we have nothing much to do we cares about our environment and wanna show our support.

To show our support and concern to climate change and our environment, I and Andrew decided to take some action....that is, GO HUG THE TREE! The tree is apparently the mascot of one of the event's sponsor. After all, the point is I found out the person inside the tree is a hot chick(by her voice) !!!

After the performance from some random indian/middle-eastern boy band(seriously,I can't tell where they come from!) and boring speech from the mayor, here comes the sacred Earth Hour! Skyscrappers in the downtown financial district started switching off their light gradually.

Downtown Toronto before and after 8.30pm

We left for the astronomy observatory on campus after that because we just couldn't stand the boring concert at the city hall. There was supposed to be a star observing event at the observatory but nothing could be observed because of the cloudy sky. So we decided to look at Toronto's skyline from the deck of observatory. We ended the night with the epic view of TO's skyline.

Downtown skyline as seen from the top of McLennan Physical Science Building.

My favourite drink

Having to stay up late for couple nights to work on project recently, NOS has become my favourite energy drink

Just a little cup of this is good enough to keep me awake for the whole night without feeling tired.
And then I came across this website few days ago...

Okay, 41.4 more cans to go...

FML

Life has not been too easy for me since January.
Every week of the winter semester is occupied by loads and loads of work (yah, even the friggin reading week!).

Despite the time I spent dealing with them, I still couldn't manage to get everything done well and on time.
So I start thinking of the reason of being so inefficient, and is it just me or everyone is having the same trouble?

Then I found that it's all about PASSION! My passion of doing these engineering coursework has gone before I could realize that.
Why am I going through these hassles if I'm no longer passionate in doing what I'm doing now and what has put me in the position I am right now?
And then I realize that it's the nature of courses I am taking this semester. Quantum mechanics, molecular chemistry, chemical kinetics and statistical mechanics. These stuff doesn't even have much to do with the field that I am going to specialize next year.
They gotta understand that the size of aircraft is way to big for quantum mechanics to come into play and the position of aircraft doesn't count on probability. Not like we're going to fill the A380 up with passengers and teleport the aircraft+passengers from Kuala Lumpur to London for RM500 per trip. (Yah, thanks to Tony Fernandes, now everyone can teleport!) So, what's the point?

Ya, I know there is nothing better I can do other than bitchin' on this pathetic blog. I need to at least pass all these crazy courses to proceed to 3rd year and hopefully all those passion will come back to me in 3rd year, before I get too tired of school.

AERO 1T1 ROCKS! (okay, maybe not...)
